This 10 day course will provide attendees who have some prior experience of maintaining Desktop PCs with the skills and knowledge required to start a career as an IT Technician or Support Engineer. You will build a range of systems, desktops and laptops, and install a variety of different desktop operating systems. This is an ideal entry level qualification which is industry standard for those starting out in an IT support role. The CompTIA A+ will provide the skills and experience for any application towards an entry level IT support role.The course will give attendees the following skills:

CompTIA A+ 220-1101 Core 1 and 220-1102 Core 2Eligibility
The course is intended for those Service leavers who have an interest in IT and a basic knowledge of hardware and software.Course Content
The CTP CompTIA A+ course is split between A+ 220-1101 Hardware and A+ 220-1102 software components over the 10 days, in line with the two A+ optional exams which can be completed post course.Attendees will be provided with the official CompTIA A+ course books, and access to CompTIA Labs to gain practical experience of the skills taught throughout the course.
Access to CompTIA labs is valid for 1 year from date of issue.
CompTIA A+ 220-1101
Attendees will cover the following:
- Install and configure PC system unit components and peripheral devices.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot display and multimedia devices.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot storage devices.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot internal system components.
- Explain network infrastructure concepts.
- Configure and troubleshoot network connections.
- Implement client virtualisation and cloud computing.
- Support and troubleshoot laptops.

Attendees will cover the following:

- Manage users, workstations, and shared resources.
- Implement physical security.

Attendees can purchase discounted vouchers from the admin team at RTC Aldershot, and these must be used within 1 year of purchase. Those completing exams will use the CompTIA online testing portal where you can complete the exam from home or any suitable location.

Your exam score will be seen immediately on completion of the exam, and you will be able to download a score report. Exam Certificates are not issued, but CTP will issue a Certificate of Attendance on completion of the course.
