Course Content
This 5 day course introduces attendees to the characteristics and contexts of a project, and the principles, themes and processes of the PRINCE2 methodology. The training (from October 2023) is based on Prince2 7th Edition and consists of: Foundation – 3 days The purpose of the Foundation course is to confirm that a candidate has sufficient knowledge and understanding of the PRINCE2 method to be able to work effectively with, or as a member of, a project management team working within an environment supporting PRINCE2. The Foundation qualification is also a pre-requisite for the Practitioner qualification. The purpose of the Practitioner course is to confirm whether the candidate has achieved sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor PRINCE2 in a scenario situation. A successful Practitioner candidate should, with suitable direction, be able to start applying the method to a real project but may not be sufficiently skilled to do this appropriately for all situations. Their individual project management expertise, complexity of the project and the support provided for the use of PRINCE2 in their work environment will all be factors that impact what the Practitioner can achieve.
Exams
This is a 60 minute multiple choice closed book exam with a pass mark of 60%
This is a 2 ½hr exam consisting of 70 questions and is open book, with a pass mark of 60%. Should you require, attendees will be able to resit the Foundation or Practitioner element of the course once at no cost. Please contact CBIC who can arrange this. Prince2 considers the needs of organisations and project environments, with practical real-world application of the Prince2 guidance and more examples, hints and tips. There is specific guidance on identifying the minimum requirement for a Prince2 project so that practitioners will be confident in adapting the Prince2 method for each individual project in an organisation as it can be tailored to fit. Prince2 version7 introduces new content:
Course Manuals for Overseas Service Leavers- Due to the size and weight of course manuals and other reading materials, all Service leavers attending virtual training from overseas will be emailed electronic copies of materials in advance of the course. It would be helpful if you have dual screens to refer to these during the course. Please note that due to copyright, these materials cannot be printed. If you would prefer course materials to be posted, this can be arranged at an additional cost of £40. Please advise CBIC staff if you require posted materials to be sent overseas.
